الانتخابات الرئاسية الثانية، هي انتخابات سوف تعقد في أفغانستان في 20 اغسطس، 2009. وسوف تكون ثاني انتخابات ديموقراطية في البلاد. وقد عقدت الانتخابات السابقة في 2004، حيث فاز بها الرئيس حامد كرزاي، والذي يعاد انتخاباه في الالانتخابات الحالية لفترة جديدة. وسوف ينتخب في نفس اليوم مجالس المحافظات.

The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC), said insecurity had "severely limited freedom of movement and constrained freedom of expression for candidates".[1] The government paid 10,000 tribesmen to protect polling stations.[2] Security concerns prevented presidential candidates from campaigning in most of the provinces.[3]
