الطاجيك (أو طاجك) مجموعة عرقية تعد من المجموعات العرقية الرئيسية في وسط آسيا، و تتواجد بشكل رئيسي في دول: أفغانستان، طاجيكستان، باكستان، أوزبكستان، إيران و الصين.

ينحدر الطاجيك من الشعب الأرياني، و هو شعب قديم يتحدث اللغة الهندو-أوروبية. و الشعب الإيراني الذي استقر في وسط آسيا، كما استقر في الصين و الهند إبان الفتح الإسلامي.

الطاجك هم شعب علماء، فمنهم ابن سينا، البخاري و مسلم والترمذي وغيرهم، وهذا ما تقره لهم الشعوب المجاورة (وباقي المسلمين). لذلك فهم أهل مدن وحضر. وهم غالبية سكان مدن آسيا الوسطى، مثل بخارى (أوزبكستان)، سمرقند، ترمذ (تركمنستان) و مزار شريف (أفغانستان). بغض النظر عن التقسيمات السياسية في أي زمان.

والطاجك هم الشعب الوحيد في الجمهوريات السوفييتية الآسيوية السابقة الذي يتحدث الفارسية وليس احدى اللغات التركية.
