لوريكاريدي Loricariidae، هي أكبر فصائل القرموط، ويوجد تحتها أكثر من 680 نوع حتى الآن وتظهر أنواع جديدة غير موصفة كل عام.[2] تعيش اللوريكاريدي في المياه العذبة في كوستاريكا، پنما والمياه الاستوائية والشبه استوائية في أمريكا الجنوبية.
