كوفي عطا عنان (/ˈkoʊfi ˈænən/; و. 8 أبريل 1938 - ت. 18 أغسطس 2018)، هو دبلوماسي غاني وكان الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة من 1 يناير 1997 حتى 31 ديسمبر 2006. حصل عنان بالإشتراك مع الأمم المتحدة على جائزة نوبل للسلام 2001 من أجل تمويل الصندوق العالمي للإيدز والصحة لدعم البلدان النامية في نضالهم من أجل رعاية شعوبهم.

من 23 فبراير حتى 31 أغسطس، كان عنان الممثل الخاص للأمم المتحدة-جامعة الدول العربية ^[2] إلىسوريا، في محاولة لحل النزاع الجاري.^[3] انتهت مهمة عنان بعد عدم إنجازه تقدم فيما يخص حل النزاع^[4] وأعلن: "عندما يكون الشعب السوري بحاجة ماسة للتدخل، يستمرون في توجيه أصابع الاتهام ولوم مجلس الأمن."

حياته

ولد كوفي في مدينة كوماسي، غانا، وكوفي عنان اسم مركب، حيث تعني كلمة كوفي يوم الجمعة وتعني كلمة عنان الرابع، ويوم الجمعة هو اليوم الذي ولد فيه، والرابع هو ترتبه بين اخوته.

حياته الشخصية

عام 1965 تزوج عنان من تيتا ألاكيجا، سيدة نيجيرية من عائلة مشهورة. بعد سنوات أنجبا ابنتهم أما وبعدها ابنهم كوجو. انفصل الزوجان بعد 17 عام. عاام 1984 تزوج عنان من نان لاگرگن - محامية سويدية من الأمم المتحدة وابنة أخت راؤول والنبرگ.
