طباعة النسيج إنگليزية: Textile printing هي عملية تطبيق بعض الألوان على الأقمشة وفق رسم ونقش معينين. ترتبط طباعة النسيج بصباغته، ففي الصباغة يتم تغطية القماش بكامله وبتجانس بنفس اللون بينما في الطباعة يمكن استخدام لون واحد أو أكثر لتشكيل نقش معين.

تستخدم في الطباعة القوالب الخشبية، والرواسم (صَفِيحَةٌ مَعْدِنِيَّةٌ يُحْفَرُ عَلَيْهَا خَطٌّ أَوْ رَسْمٌ تُسْتَعْمَلُ فِي الطِّبَاعَةِ)، والصفائح المحفورة، والأسطوانات، والغربال الحريري. تحتوي الأصبغة على مواد مثخنة لتمنع انتشار اللون بسبب التجاذب الشعري خارج حدود الرسمة.

 التاريخ

Woodblock printing is a technique for printing text, images or patterns used widely throughout East Asia and probably originating in China in antiquity as a method of printing on textiles and later paper. As a method of printing on cloth, the earliest surviving examples from China date to before 220 CE/AD.
