- 26 نوفمبر 174 ق.م. (15 مارس 581 في التقويم الروماني) بدأت في روما قنصلية لوكيوس پوستوميوس وماركوس پوپيليوس ليناس.
- القنصل م. پوپيليوس ليناس أغار، بدون دافع معروف، على الستاتييلي Statielli وهم قبيلة ليگورية كانت تقطن شمال جنوة. وقد سحقهم أمام عاصمتهم كاريستوم، مجبراً إياهم على أن يباعوا عبيداً بعد استسلامهم وبيع ممتلكاتهم في مزاد. مجلس الشيوخ أمره أن يدفع فديتهم ويعيد أملاكهم إليهم، إلىا أن القنصل وضع قواته في الشتاء في پيزا قبل حضوره أمام مجلس الشيوخ لدفع المجلس أن يلغي قراره، ولكنه لم ينجح في إلغاء القرار.
- أپيوس كلاوديوس أُرسِل إلى تساليا لإخماد التمرد الاجتماعي بين التساليين والپرهبي Perrhaebi، وعمل ماركلوس وسيطاً مع الإتوليين Aetolia. Eumenes came to Rome to denounce the war preparations of Perseus of Macedon , and a commission was sent to Pergamon to investigate. Later, she went to Egypt to renew the treaty with Cleopatra , regent of Ptolemy VI , and then to the Seleucid Antiochus IV to renew the treaty of friendship signed with her father to renew and settle the issue of the arrears of indemnities owed since the Peace of Apamea.
